Cydni Tetro - Co-founder/Executive Director

Entrepreneur in Residence - Disney

At Disney she works with Disney Research to help productize and commercial projects. Over the course of her career she has helped dozens of startups successfully build, launch, sell and market new products and services. She has served as CEO of a media company, was COO for FamilyLink.com, a social network for families with over 80 Million users. Which was the fastest growing website in the country during her time. Prior to that she was CMO/co-founder for NextPage where she directed the strategy and execution of NextPage’s product and marketing initiatives.

She has been recognized as a v100 Top Venture Entrepreneur, in the Utah Business 30 Women to Watch and was a Finalist in the Stevie Awards for Top Women Entrepreneur. She has her MBA and BS in Computer Science from BYU.

Kim Jones - Co-founder/Chair of the Board

CEO - Vérité, Inc.

Kimberley Jones founded Vérité based upon a vision for taking media to a digital communications platform. After over twelve years in Silicon Valley marketing and selling everything from high-end file servers and workstations to programmable chips, Kim Jones moved to Utah for a change. Upon arriving she immediately began working in the Broadcast Film and Video production market selling Sony Broadcast for a reseller based in Salt Lake City. Now as CEO of Vérité she is focused on interactive solutions for sales, marketing and training communications as well as web-based business applications and social media platforms. For over eighteen years she has been the driving force behind the company’s growth and project accomplishments. She is also the Chairman of the Board for the Utah Women Technology Council and a Trustee on Westminster College’s MBA Advisory Board and an Honorary Trustee of the Utah Chapter of the American Marketing Association.

Sara Jones - Co-founder/VP Operations

CEO - IFINIDI

Sara Jones founded a technology consulting firm, IFINIDI, focused on product innovation, talent growth, and advocacy. She has 15+ years of experience as a technology professional and as a social entrepreneur. Sara is also VP of Strategic Development for Patent Law Works LLC, a silicon-valley based intellectual property law firm. Prior to this, Sara was an executive at School Improvement Network where she focused on opportunity management, cross-functional execution, and strategic partnerships. Her teams conceptualized and developed research-based, new media learning products in K-12 education through innovative technology platforms. She was also a Shareholder and patent attorney at Workman Nydegger where she focused on strategic protection of software applications. She has her law degree from BYU and a chemical engineering degree from the University of Utah. Sara was recognized as Utah Business’s 40 under 40, Utah’s Legal Elite, and a Mountain State Rising Star.

Julie Simmons - VP Education

Chief Information Officer, MarketStar

At MarketStar, Julie is responsible for the strategy and tactical execution of IT infrastructure, IT product development, and data management. Julie has over 20 years of international experience in the technology industry and has served in various executive positions in marketing, project management, and information technology. Julie received her MBA from the University of Utah and her BS cum laude from Utah State University. Julie has also completed the Omnicom Senior Management Executive Education Program which is a nationally ranked program attended by the top 2% of Omnicom employees.

Julie is passionate about helping young women. She is also the CEO of a women’s empowerment company, that publishes a website, www.lookilulu.com. Julie also serves on the Career Technology Advisory Board for Weber School District

Gretta Spendlove - VP TechTalks/Legal Counsel

Shareholder at Durham Jones & Pinegar

She practices corporate and real estate law. Gretta works with growing companies in structuring their businesses, obtaining financing, and protecting their intellectual property and other assets. She also handles commercial real estate development, sales, and leasing. Gretta is actively involved in the Utah business community. She has served as vice president of the Salt Lake Rotary, president of Women Lawyers of Utah, and chair of the Real Estate and Business Sections of the Utah State Bar. She is presently a member of the Board of Directors for the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce Women's BusinessCenter and a member of the Advisory Board for the Zion’s Bank Women's Financial Group. Dr. Angela Trego - VP Women Tech Groups

Faculty Member at Utah Valley University

Dr. Angela Trego, PE, currently works at Utah Valley University as a faculty member in Technology Management. She is also a consultant providing expertise in program management and teaching technical short courses. She has worked at Varian Medical Systems, ATK, Becton Dickinson and The Boeing Company. Dr. Trego has two patents and is the author of over 50 publications and presentations. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. She is an associate fellow member of AIAA. Angela is actively engaged in mentoring, Expanding Your Horizons, the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and on the executive board of directors for Women Tech Council.

Laura Wagner, Treasurer

Audit Manager Grant Thornton

Laura is an audit manager in the Grant Thornton Salt Lake City office. She serves clients in a variety of industries, particularly in technology and not-for-profit. Laura has served organizations, both publicly traded and privately held, that range from small, entrepreneurial companies to expanding not-for-profits to multi-national corporations. Laura is also active in our Salt Lake City technology industry group. In addition to her role as Treasurer for the Women Tech Council, Laura serves on the board of the Utah Chapter of the American Women’s Society of Certified Public Accountants. Laura graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy degree.
