What People Are Saying

Carine Clark - Symantec, SVP of Marketing

The Utah technology trade has always been vibrant and at the cutting edge of innovation. It is no surprise that many women have been very influential in putting Utah on the map as a significant contributor to the tech industry. The Women Tech Council is doing great things to continue this momentum and to further support women in business.

John Richards - BYU Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology, Associate Professor, Associate Director

At the WTC's annual awards last year we brought a table full of female tech students from Brigham Young University. It was wonderful to see these young women meet and hear from women who are leaders in all aspects of their life. The students left more inspired than ever towards realizing career goals.

Nicole Toomey Davis - Governor's Office of Economic Development, Director of Centers of Excellence Program

Utah has a strong and diverse community of women involved in the technology industry, either as professionals who work for technology companies, or women who direct technology-based activities inside their companies. The Women Tech Council is an opportunity for this community of women to support each other, mentor other women, share success strategies and enhance their ability to strengthen their companies and contribute to Utah's economic growth.

Tom Lund - Tanner LC, Director of Practice Development

In the short space of two years, the Women Tech Council has quickly moved from an idea to become the preeminent organization for women in technology. Their progressive use of new media has been noteworthy. WTC's communication is not one-way, everyone's voice is heard in real time! The Women Tech Council has become the social bookmark for professional women in Utah and beyond.

Julie Simmons - MarketStar, VP of Information Services

Women Tech Council is a great forum to meet and collaborate with smart, professional women in business. The organization provides great opportunities to further advance the visibility and development of women in technology or technology related roles.

Tami Goetz - State Science Advisor

Women Tech Council (WTC) is actively engaged in helping our young people understand their potential to become our future technologists.  The WTC has been a great resource for me to find successful female role models to support the outreach and educational efforts in my role as the State Science Advisor.  I worked with WTC to invite 25 high school students to attend the Women Tech Awards; one parent even called the school to thank them for inspiring their child.  The WTC sent a number of volunteers to Expanding Your Horizons where 450 young girls (grades 6-12) participated in hands-on workshops that revolve around career opportunities available to people with STEM degrees.  The WTC has also been a great opportunity for me professionally to meet and work with the amazing women technologists in the State.

Bob Ligget - Corporate Pulse Consulting

A quick note to say how much I enjoyed the Disney breakfast meeting yesterday. I thought it was well-staged and I picked up some good ideas from the speaker for my own consulting work. The networking was very good and I made several valuable contacts. I've done some work with IT firms and was an adjunct at Neumont University for four years and I appreciate organizations like the WTC; there's real value in what you provide.

Beverly Warren - Professional Recruiters

I have been meaning to tell you how much Lora Lea Mock and I enjoyed the Women's Tech Council luncheon and speaker at the May Tech Talk held at Omniture. I look forward to future meetings.
